The boys started off the weekend with an eighth place finish in the Sprint Medley Relay.  Splits were Lowen with a 24.2 on the opening 200, Justus with a 24.2 as well on the second 200, Brad with a 53.5 on the 400, and then Cooper took it home with a 2:07 split on the 800!  Fantastic times from these guys!  The DMR followed and John, Alex, TScott, and Seany B all ran well for a combined time of 11:51.  Saturday's individual performances were just as impressive with a majority of the team coming home with personal best times!  Congrats to those athletes.

The next meet is not until this Sunday so we have plenty of time to get back to work this week!

Boys Team Finishes Regular Season at 8 wins and 2 loses

With a loss to North Kingstown and victories over Westerly, Narragansett and Exter-West Greenwich, the boys team finishes 8 and 2 this 2013 regular season.  Thats a much better performance than last years 5-4 record.  The only individual 1st place finisher was Brad Wicks in the 55.  Brad finished the entire regular season  in the southern division undefeated in the 55 m race.  Congrats Brad! It is also worth noting the the 4x400 team dropped their time down to 3:40.4.  That ranks them now 3rd in the state but with a lot of improvements yet to be made.  Stay focused boys!

Coming up this weekend is the Dartmouth College Relays in New Hampshire.  Only a select few of our top athletes will be coming to this meet.  Because we leave with both the girls and the boys team on Friday afternoon their will be no organized practice, although you are encouraged to workout on your own.  There will be no JV meet this weekend or practice either.  Again, working out on your own is encouraged.

Even though the regular season is over, there are plenty of competitions left for both JV and Varsity athletes.  Keep working hard over the next couple weeks.  Hard work pays off!!

Boys Team is 5-1

Last Friday night the boys went up against the 2012 Indoor State Champions Chariho High School.  Unfortunately, we were not able to pull out the team win, suffering our first lost of the season, 69-40 Chariho wins.  Individual winners included Wicks in the 55m, DelSanto in the Shot Put, Norton in the Weight Throw, the 4x200 team of Boahin, Lowen, Perry, and Von Heinegg.  We did win against Narragansett

It is worth noting that the 4x400 team ran 3:42.4, which ties them at 4th in Rhode Island with 4x4 powerhouse Central High School.  NK is 1st, Hendricken is 2nd and Chariho(finished .2 ahead of us) is 3rd.  Also the school record is 3:39.7, so it's possible that we could drop that this season.  Those athletes were Wicks, Rosenberg, Richmond, and Eyster.

In fact, the 4x800 is also ranked in the top 6 and our 4x200 is ranked just outside the top 6.  Relays are having a great season.  Work hard and let's see how far you can take it!
